The trailer Rz1011 was acquired in 1995 by the des GAR from the French railway company SNCF in order to enlarge the transportation capacity of the railcar Z105. RZ1011 was delivered in 1962 from the firm Décauville at Corbeil (Paris) with the class-number XR 8291 to SNCF. In 1980 it was completely modernized together with XR 8274, 8281 und 8285 in SNCF workshop Bordeaux. The original color design "crème-bordeaux" was replaced with an blue-white scheme, the new SNCF design for DMU's . The interior was adapted do the actual needs, more comfortable seats and a new heating- and cooling system were installed. The trailer now offered 12 seats in fist class and 48 in second class. In addition space for a luggage compartment (2.5 tons) was created. technically these for trailers were adapted to work with the restored railcars X 2800 and X 2100. After the sale in 1995 to the GAR the trailer received a new red-gray outfit by the GAR depot crew. It was numbered Rz1011 according to the CFL trailers Rz1001 to Rz1010. The brakes were adapted to the system installed on railcar Z105.. In September 1995 the first special train was organized by GAR. Occasionally you can see the trailer Rz1011 together with the railcar Z105.
NEWS Since 2002 the railcar Z105 and the trailer Décauville Rz 1011 were handed over to the State of Luxembourg (Ministry of Culture). This has given the management to the association "1604 classics asbl" (= State of Luxemburg + 5519asbl + GAR asbl).
