The CFL / GAR dining-cars are actually NOT available (will be revised)

The GAR owns a dining-car called "Rendez-Vous". It has been transformed from a CFL Wegmann coach. It is equipped with a professional kitchen, can run at 140 km/hour and is authorized to circulate in most European countries.

The dining-car has 68 seats. In a second "Wegmann" coach (without a kitchen) we can offer further 68 places. 

It is possible to rent a bar-car. This is a transformed "Wegmann" coache. It can be used as buffet- and dancing car or for meetings. There are no seats. It is possible to install a bar-counter with draught ale.

Hiring of the carriages

It is possible to hire the "Rendez-Vous" dining-car alone, together with the second dining-car and/or the bicycle-car. If the client wants, the GAR can organize the whole  train voyage.

The dining-car can be incorporated in a regular train course  under the condition, that the train is not a railcar or a multiple-unit. We offer the possibility to organize a special train eventually hauled by the restorated diesel locomotive 1604.

As the second dining-car as well as the bicycle-car ore no longer owned by the CFL they are not used in regular trains. It is always possible to order these coaches.

Rendez-Vous dining car (without accomodation):  250 € per day

Fee for the second dining-car:                                  125 € per day

Fee for the bar-car:                                                    125 € per day

Additional to this price are the railway tickets (CFL or others). It must be considered that, when used outside of Luxemburg, the CFL normally needs 1 day to transport the carriage at destination and one day to bring it back to Luxemburg (rent for 3 days).

When accommodation is ordered (meal & drinks) no fee for the carriage is to be paid.

The Accommodation

Although the dining-car is equipped with a professional kitchen we cannot not cook all sorts of meals as in a normal restaurant. The GAR offered miscellaneous menus Please contact us for the possible menus.

For groups there is the possibility to order a cold buffet. Therefore you need to hire beside the "Rendez-Vous coach also the one or two bicycle-cars.
